Dr Suzanna Russell-Smith

Suzanna is a Clinical Psychologist with a particular interest in working with children and adolescents.  With school-based experience, Suzanna has an extensive understanding of the broad-ranging issues that can impact on a child’s social and emotional development.

Suzanna’s areas of special interest include:

  • Anxiety and other mood difficulties
  • Social skills
  • Bullying and friendship issues
  • School avoidance
  • Impact of learning difficulties
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Behavioural challenges
  • Family relationships

Suzanna works primarily from a Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach, and especially values the genuine and open relationships she builds with the children, teenagers, and families she works with.  Suzanna works in close collaboration with schools when this will achieve better outcomes.

Suzanna completed her postgraduate training at The University of Western Australia in 2013.  Her PhD examined the cognitive processes associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
