Katie Lightfoot
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Katie completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2009 at the University of Western Australia, and has experience working in both community and private mental health settings.
In her sessions, Katie brings a warm and empathic approach, and believes that a touch of humour is an important part of the therapeutic process! She works collaboratively with clients to help them better understand themselves, and to find solutions that can help them overcome life’s challenges. She emphasises the significance of exploring how past experiences can impact present life, while supporting her clients’ personal growth and self-awareness.
Katie’s work is primarily guided by an attachment theory framework, however she is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Circle of Security. This allows for a comprehensive and holistic approach to therapy, which is customised to the needs of the individual.
Katie’s areas of interest include (but are not limited to) mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, adolescent mental health, family & partner relationships, adjustment disorders, and post-natal mental health.
