Charisse Hay

Charisse is a registered psychologist and PhD candidate specialising in trauma-informed, person-centred therapy.

Charisse is known for creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. She understands that trauma and life stressors can impact how we think, feel, and connect with others, and she works collaboratively with clients to restore a sense of safety, confidence, and emotional balance. She works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety, depression and other mood disorders
  • Trauma (including childhood and sexual trauma),
  • Neuro diversity
  • LGBTQIA+ related concerns
  • Adolescent Mental Health (School refusal, bullying and building self-confidence)
  • Family and Domestic violence, including coercive control
  • Marital and Relationship challenges

Her therapeutic approach is tailored to each individual and draws on evidence-based modalities including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Circle of Security
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)

Charisse works to support clients in addressing both immediate challenges and deeper relational or developmental wounds. While she brings expertise in complex trauma and family violence, Charisse’s primary focus is helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and build healthy, meaningful relationships.
