WPATH Assessments
Affirming support for your next steps in care
At Vivid Psychology, our clinicians provide a safe, respectful, and affirming space for gender-diverse clients. We offer WPATH assessments for adults (18+) seeking gender-affirming medical and/or surgical treatments, including hormones and surgery. These assessments support informed decision-making and access to care, with no expectation of a particular narrative, as we recognise that every person’s experience of gender is unique.

Supporting gender-affirming pathways with care
This assessment is a collaborative, conversation-based process completed over at least three sessions, with additional sessions if needed. We explore your gender journey, lived experience, current identity, and readiness for gender-affirming care in a supportive and paced way.
Once complete, your clinician will provide a report for your treating medical professional (e.g. GP, endocrinologist, or surgeon) to support your care. Reports are typically valid for three months, depending on provider requirements.
All assessments are conducted in line with the WPATH Standards of Care (Version 8).
Assessment sessions are $280 per 50-minute session. With a valid GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan, a Medicare rebate of $145.25 per session applies. The written report is $350 (plus GST), with no Medicare rebate.
